Margaret Hobson presents “Marching To the Drum of the 44th Indiana Regiment” at the Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza, Fort Wayne, Indiana, in Meeting Room A. While researching her Griffith family line, she discovered three brothers who served in the Civil War. Margaret has collected biographical info on all 2000+ men who served in the 44th regiment. Her research includes descriptive information, service related data and post-war facts. Margaret Hobson is a family historian who grew up in DeKalb County, Indiana but now lives in Allen County, Indiana where she is a Fort Wayne Community School teacher and professional researcher for the Lincoln National Corporation.
- In 2012, Margaret Hobson released her book “The Men Who Served in N.E. Indiana’s Iron 44th: Short Biographies and Regimental Statistics.” It’s a 400 page hardbound book with biographies on the men and 20 pages, in color, of graphs.
