“Researching Quaker Records” – May 9, 2012 Genealogy Program

A review of records kept by the Society of Friends (a.k.a. Quakers) from the seventeenth century to the present will include the beginnings of the Society and an understanding of their beliefs. Guidelines will be offered for researching the records in Indiana, worldwide and also on the internet. Ron Tetrick holds a Masters degree in English & Latin. He has taught university courses in medical terminology. For the
past eleven years he has been a Genealogy Assistant at the Howard County Public Library. As a lifelong Quaker, Ron has served as a rep to the Western Yearly Meeting in Plainfield. He is also a member of the Howard County Genealogical Society, Indiana Genealogical Society, Indiana Historical Society and the Ohio Genealogical Society.
This is our final 2011-2012 Allen County Genealogy Society of Indiana monthly educational genealogy program.
June 13 at our Annual Banquet we award our First Family and Homesteader Certificates.
Our new educational genealogy programs resume September 12, 2012.
