Maybe you’ve grown up hearing “the legend,” or maybe it’s a family tale you’ve just heard for the first time. The story sounds like a novel, but the person who told it wouldn’t lie, right? Learn how to use the clues in a family anecdote to research its accuracy, and decide how to include it in your family history.

Delia Borne is a staff member of the Genealogy Center since 1983, serves as Co-Coordinator of Genealogy Programming and Co-Administrator of the Genealogy Center’s blog and Facebook page. For twenty -five years, she has worked with PERSI as an encoder and editor. Delia was a writer for the History of Fort Wayne and Allen County 1700-2005.
