“Understanding and Using Indiana Courthouse Records” presented by John J. Newman – December 14, 2016 – Free Educational Genealogy Program

2016-indiana-bicentennial—In celebration of our state’s Bicentennial, we welcome John J. Newman who will share the record keeping of the fifteen territorial counties that were expanded and replaced by the records of our state including probate, marriage, civil, criminal and land records.

—John J. Newman was the Indiana State Archivist 1970-1986. He holds degrees from Marquette University and Indiana University. He began doing genealogical research in 1959. In addition to writing books and articles, he has lectured across our nation.
