“The Family History Story Map – Plotting an Ancestors Story” – November 9, 2022 – Free Genealogy Program
This presentation provides you with the tools and knowledge to plan your first family history story. Learn how to outline a story using our Family History Story Map. With this map in hand, combined with a couple of new tools we’ve developed for the family history writer, you’ll be armed to create story after story. This presentation takes all the guessing out of what comes next in your story; there is no more writer’s block when you enlist our story map and plot your ancestor’s story.
Lynn Palermo is a family historian with a love for the written word. She is the writing and accountability coach at the Family History Writing Studio. She spends most of her days helping her students enrolled in her flagship writing course, The Masterclass. As a freelance writer and research coach, she has written for Internet Genealogy, Discovering Family History, and Family Chronicles magazines. Named one of the Top 40 Genealogy Blogs by Family Tree Magazine, her posts have also been featured on The National Genealogical Society website. Lynn’s passion lies in teaching others how to write their family history stories. She guides family historians through writing their family history stories using a variety of mediums, including online courses, webinars, workshops, eBooks, and one-on-one conversations. Lynn holds a certificate in creative writing from the University of Toronto.

Free Monthly Educational Programs
Our Free Educational Programs are presented at 7:00 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month September through May. To expand our audience and bring the amazing resources of the Society to a wider audience, our 2022-2023 season of programs will be hybrid programs, both in person in the Discovery Center Room at The Allen County Public Library and live streamed on the Zoom platform for those who cannot attend in person.
