OBJECTIVES of the Allen County Genealogical Society of Indiana are: to collect and preserve the early ancestry of Allen County families; to stimulate and instruct all persons who may be interested in genealogy; to develop and record historical and vital facts of Allen County and the people who originated. developed. and built communities in this county; and to encourage development and maintenance of genealogical files.

FIRST FAMILIES of ALLEN COUNTY, INDIANA
Direct descendants of an early Settler who made a home in Allen County, Indiana before December 31, 1850 are eligible to join this certified group. PROOF of descent is required.
HOMESTEADERS of ALLEN COUNTY, INDIANA
Direct descendants of a Pioneer who came to Allen County between January 1, 1851 and December 31, 1875 have the opportunity to join this certified group. PROOF of descent is required.
CENTURY FAMILIES of ALLEN COUNTY
For ancestors living in Allen County, Indiana, between January 1, 1876 and through the date one-hundred years prior to the date of application.
Is open to anyone who is interested in genealogy. Dues are: $15.00 Single; $18.00 Family (one mailing address); International rates are being determined. Annual dues payable July 1 of each year with a September 30 deadline in order to be listed in the membership book. Checks should be payable to Allen County Genealogical Society. Quarterly publication: September, December, March, and June is mailed to all members. Back issues, if available, may be purchased from the editor for $3.00 each plus $1.00 postage. Selected articles are posted in the members only section of our ACGSI web site. Article contributions and queries are always welcome. Send text or Microsoft Office compatible files to the editor: suedowney@comcast.net. Deadlines are the 15th of the month 6 weeks prior to publication.

We do NOT volunteer to research for individuals, except to check the Society’s surname file. You can consult our Researchers List, although the Society does not assume responsibility for their work.
What’s Going On @ ACGSI Blog
We started our blog in September 2011 to reach the online genealogy community. It complements our Social Media pages such as ACGSI on Facebook, ACGSI on Twitter, and Genealogy for Allen County, Indiana on Pinterest sites which posts current society information, events, photos, Allen County, Indiana related items, interesting genealogy web sites and occasionally computer or technology information related to genealogy research.
