PIONEER CERTIFICATES
Certificates are awarded at our annual June Banquet at the Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Applications are available on our web site links below or will be mailed upon request. You do not need to be an Allen County resident to apply.
The first of 3 Fort Wayne’s was built in 1794. Shown below is an 1852 daguerreotype photo of the 1816 Fort Wayne in the October 28, 2010 History Center Blog, Allen County was formed April 1, 1824.
FIRST FAMILIES of ALLEN COUNTY, INDIANA
Direct descendants of an early Settler who made a home in Allen County, Indiana before December 31, 1850 are eligible to join this certified group. PROOF of descent is required.
HOMESTEADERS of ALLEN COUNTY, INDIANA
Direct descendants of a Pioneer who came to Allen County between January 1, 1851 and December 31, 1875 have the opportunity to join this certified group. PROOF of descent is required.
CENTURY FAMILIES of ALLEN COUNTY
For ancestors living in Allen County, Indiana, between January 1, 1876 and through the date one-hundred years prior to the date of application.
