“Amish Mennonite Immigrants to Allen and Adams Counties” March 8, 2017 presented by Joe Springer – Free Educational Genealogy Program

In the mid-nineteenth century, Amish Mennonite immigrants began settling in northeastern Indiana. This presentation will explore European places of origin, immigration patterns, and documentation available for these immigrants. Get tips on reliable sources for Amish Mennonite family history.

Joe Springer has been the curator of the Mennonite Historical Library at the Goshen College for over thirty years. He holds master’s degrees in history and library science from Catholic University of America. He has written a two-volume sourcebook including many Allen County immigrants.
